| Winter in Lappland |

The snow is falling softly down from the sky, and the temperature is just below zero. The winter is here! We have noticed that it has not been so cold in December, as the last year, but the degrees at night is about minus 5-10 degrees. We are very happy to still have the beautiful snow that covers the land, and it is especially beautiful to see the winterland from the big Buddha statues in Fredrika. Sweden are blessed with the Buddhas, and the Buddhist monk that is living at the temple all winter long(The monk in the picture). The Thais that lives here are visiting the temple every day, and are having a great social time after the Monk have eaten his daily meal before 12'o clock. Later in the evening(varies from 06.00pm to 08.00pm) , the monk is giving devotional prayer with mantras on Bali, and everyone who like, can join for the praying ceremony. At this time of the day, the sun have gone down. Usually it is dark before 04.00 pm in December. Sometimes there are visitors that comes to the temple to learn about Buddhism. The students are very happy to learn more about Buddhism, and experiment Buddhism tradition first hand. There are also a group in Fredrika that arrange Buddhist Vipassana retreats. It is interesting that there is manny more people who are discovering this place to withdraw and meditate. Everyone are welcome to come and visit the temple. If it is just for a cup of tea/coffee, or to participate in a meditation or evening prayer ceremony. The Monk are happy to receive visitors. Click here to see Winter Pictures from Fredrika
