Thai Buddhist association in Sweden welcomes all who are interested in Buddhism to visit the temple and participate in temple activities. It was discussed more and more among Thais about the possibility of forming a temple in Sweden. 1983, a group of Thailand, under the leadership of Prachak Suwannapeth, a fund and rented an apartment in the Stockholm suburb Alby. The apartment was used as a temporary temple and was later named "Wat Buddha Rama" (in English, "Buddha Rama Temple"). The first activity was a Makha Puch ceremony, led by Phra Maha Chanong Chuttintharo (Luang-ta), which later became the first chief monk who was preaching in the temple. The temple has since had many important religious and cultural activities. Many people, both within and outside Sweden took part in temple activities and so did the temple grew fast. Chuttintorn Hema Chan Towers, who chaired the temple compound at the time, took the decision to buy a 3000 sq meters plot near Rockhampton Sea in Värmdö municipality to build a new and larger temple, which was inaugurated on June 4, 1988.
